Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started with the Parcel Audit?
Our on-boarding process is simple and efficient. Your Account Team will walk through exactly what’s needed to begin, and help you understand what to expect as we begin our partnership.
My company currently performs some carrier invoice auditing internally. Can VeriShip conduct an audit including only points that our internal audit is not covering?
Our automated, continuous audit is highly effective and efficient at identifying parcel shipping billing errors. While an individual organization can dedicate resources to single audit points, the comprehensive approach we take will always result in a more efficient approach, letting our customers focus their attention on their core business.
My company has a guaranteed service refund (GSR) waiver. Can VeriShip still audit our parcel invoices?
All small parcel carrier service levels guarantee delivery by a certain date and time. In our ten years of holding parcel carriers accountable to their promises, we’ve discovered that many organizations mistakenly waive their right to late delivery refunds from FedEx or UPS. That’s where we come in.
Many companies who work with parcel carriers like UPS or FedEx will waive their right to late delivery refunds in exchange for other incentives or discounts within their contract. While these incentives may be tempting for companies attempting to save money on their parcel spend, VeriShip strongly discourages agreeing to such waivers, due to the fact that those incentives and discounts can typically be offered regardless of the late delivery refund waiver.
Do not be discouraged from enlisting our auditing services if you have already agreed to a late delivery refund waiver; our software analyzes dozens of other critical data points to recover savings opportunities.
Will implementing a parcel audit negatively impact my company's relationship with our carrier?
Recovering parcel costs isn’t about placing blame—it’s about holding parcel carriers accountable to their promises.
These are guarantees that your parcel carrier has made in order to earn your business, and there are systems in place for them to refund the money they owe you when they fail to meet them. The problem is that most companies don’t have the time, resources, or know-how to navigate these processes quickly and efficiently.
Our parcel audit services ensure that every charge on your bill is accurate. Your carrier relationship will not be adversely affected, as the audit ensures the service is being performed as promised. In fact, many of our customers tell us that they receive a higher level of service from their carrier due to VeriShip’s services.
What kind of reporting solutions do you offer?
Our VeriShip Intelligence Platform™ (VIP) enables cloud-based reporting and analytics as a standard part of our audit services. This comprehensive reporting allows you to monitor detailed shipping information in real time, helping to reduce shipping costs. Plus, you’ll get access to continuously updating, objective analytics like cost per pound, average zone, and more to empower your company with significant parcel savings opportunities.
How secure is our data?
Our hosting and service delivery infrastructure is used by the world’s largest, most prestigious brands and governments for their most sensitive data, ensuring the highest level of security. Your data is housed in highly secure data centers that use state-of-the-art electronic surveillance and multi-factor access control systems.
All data centers have passed security and process audits ranging from SOC 1 (formerly SSAE 16) and SOC 2 to ISO 9001 and HIPAA. We recognize that security is an ongoing process, not a singular event. Therefore, we continuously evaluate and reinforce our security policy and practices to provide maximum data security for our customers.
Does the carrier incur a fee with Parcel Pay?
The carrier will incur a small interchange fee; however, they negotiated those fees to be minimal. Carriers accept this form of payment and the associated costs are a part of doing business.
If there is a concern on the parcel agreement, it’s important to note that payment method, technology credits, and any value-adds should never influence or impact contract discounts.
