Our ShipMates are to credit for creating and maintaining this culture and making VeriShip such a fun place to work. Get to know the people behind the magic and their contributing roles through our ShipMate Spotlight Interview series. Check out the previous ShipMate Spotlights, here.

This week, we chatted with Tarnu about his daring Costco runs, whether he thinks a hot dog is a sandwich, and what he loves most about working at VeriShip.

When did you start at VeriShip?

I originally started back in 2015, left and realized the grass isn’t greener and came back Jan. 2019.

What are the three things that make you want to come and work for VeriShip every day?

Providing for my family, the fun environment, and being met with new challenges daily.

What is the most daring thing you have ever done?

Went to Costco, by myself, with all 4 of my children before the stay at home order…

If you could have a week-long, all-expenses paid vacation, where would you go and what would you do?

I’d go to Liberia where my family is from. Take the family and show them their roots.

What food do you dislike the most and why?

Salad….It’s a waste of time.

What movie can you watch over and over again without getting bored of it?

If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?

Explore the ocean floor.

What job would you be terrible at?

What animal do you think would be cutest if it were scaled down to the size of a cat?

Hippo obviously!

If you had to survive a zombie apocalypse with three historical figures, who would you choose and why?

Sampson (before the haircut) for strength. Harriet Tubman for the fact that she is a boss and knows how to navigate without a map. George Washington Carver for wisdom and his knowledge of agriculture. I thought about this one!

Would you rather never be stuck in traffic again or never get another cold?

Traffic is way worse in my opinion!

Is a hot dog a sandwich?

No. Does ESPN broadcast a “Sandwich” eating competition or “Hot Dog” eating competition? I rest my case. Hot Dogs are in a whole other lane like Lavar Ball.
